Minister of Transport Conducts Inspection Visit to Aden Container Terminal

Aden – 8 March 2026 – H.E. the Minister of Transport, Mr. Mohsen Haidara, conducted an official inspection visit to Aden Container Terminal (ACT), marking his first visit to the terminal since assuming office.

The Minister was received by Dr. Mohammed Alawi Amzarbah, Chairman of the Yemen Gulf of Aden Ports Corporation and Chairman of Aden Ports Development Company, along with Mr. Aref Al-Shaabi, General Manager of Aden Container Terminal, and Eng. Fadhle Al-Hugaili, Deputy General Manager of the terminal.

During the visit, Dr. Amzarbah welcomed the Minister and expressed appreciation for his support of the port sector and the operational teams working at Aden Container Terminal. He noted that the visit reflects the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the development of port operations and enhancing the efficiency of maritime services provided to shipping lines and traders.

Dr. Amzarbah also highlighted recent operational achievements at the terminal, including the successful handling of four container vessels simultaneously, reflecting the terminal’s operational capabilities and its growing role in supporting trade flows through the Port of Aden.

As part of the visit, H.E. the Minister received a briefing presentation on the services, facilities, and operational capabilities of Aden Container Terminal. The presentation was delivered by Dr. Ashraf Qardash, Senior Commercial Manager, and covered the terminal’s role in facilitating maritime trade and supporting supply chains serving the local market.

The Minister then conducted a field tour of the container yard and terminal facilities, where he was briefed on the vessels currently berthed at the port, container handling operations, and the terminal’s readiness to accommodate shipping activity, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, when cargo movements serving the local market typically increase.

The visit reflects the continued attention given by the Ministry of Transport to the development of Yemen’s port infrastructure and the strengthening of maritime logistics services through the Port of Aden.
