Aden Container Terminal welcomes the Maiden Visit of MSC LUISA,,,
10 December 2023 – Aden container terminal has received the giant container ship MSC LUISA on its maiden visit to the Port of Aden. MSC LUISA is operated by the Swiss shipping line MSC, connecting the Red Sea ports to East Asia. MSC LUISA is capable for carrying approximately 7,000 TEU with a draft of around 13 meters, which affirms Aden Port’s capabilities in serving such colossal vessels transiting through the Bab el Mandeb Strait on their voyages from East Asia to the Red Sea ports.
The management of Port of Aden, represented by Dr. Mohammed Alawi Emzarbah, Chairman of the Board, and Mr. Aref Hassan Al-Shaabi, General Manager of the container terminal, welcomed the arrival of the MSC LUISA, emphasizing Aden Port’s pivotal role in servicing giant vessels traversing the Red Sea region and the Gulf of Aden.
The container terminal management, represented by the Deputy General Manager, Mr. Fadhle Alhugili extended a warm welcome to the ship’s captain and commemorative gift was given to the Captain MSC LUISA. The Vessel’s captain has expressed his delight at his first visit to Port of Aden, praising the port’s services in terms of berthing, guidance, smooth and rapid vessel berth, as well as the swift handling of containers.
